Tatonka - Monarch of the Plains

Tatonka (the Lakota Sioux name for “buffalo”) was often referred to as the “Monarch of the Plains” in the heritage of the western United States. It came to be known as a symbol of self-reliance, strength, and prosperity.

In some western lore, it was believed that the Tatonka was a good omen for abundance and good fortune, and that they gave their “gifts” to man without regret. In doing so, Tatonka taught man to “honor” another’s pathway and to support each individual’s aspirations.

The founders of Tatonka Capital Corporation have chosen Tatonka as a symbol of our commitment to our customers – a commitment to do what we say we will do.
